Cani Sciolti Valtellina. Wild dogs from north Italy

Cani Sciolti Valtellina is a group that does not belong to any particular discipline of cycling, is a simple entity; they are stray dogs who have no owners and no flags. The Cani Sciolti are pure attitude, regardless of the type of bike that they are using, road, CX, mountain bike, fixed;  Cani live their adventures faithful to their own style, as well as free dogs, no rules and just for fun.

“We are people that we are regularly disliked by ourselves and especially when we ride bike. There is no harmony in the “Cani”, so that they are so pure and free. “

Valtellina is a valley located in the far north of Italy near Bergamo (but quite in the north hehe … closed to Italy and Switzerland) is an almost mystical and mythological land and their roads lend themselves to Bible holy cards about bicycles, a place where the mountains and nature are the undisputed masters. This epic scenario is the natural habitat of the Cani Sciolti, where they perform their adventures.

“Our greatest fun is to go to the mountain by bike, take pictures, drink artisan alcohol, go out  in the afternoon and come back after sunset, riding bike to lost places.“

Adventure, no matter what, we mean only adventure, regardless of weather adversities, what might happen and how bad we are going to spend riding often on unrecommendable places and others unknown.

“We do not know precisely what does cycling mean, then it is difficult to define what is cycling for us. It would be like a search, experiment, lost, improvisation, carelessness and smell of sweaty genitals.”

Mountain is sometimes synonymous with suffering…

“Suffering makes you blaspheme and makes you understand that you are a living human and makes you aware the weight of your body and the weakness of your mind.”

Randonneur: riding trips to incredible places as the most famous Alpine passes, Sacro Macello one of the hardest races for fixed.

Gravel: mountain bike paths that lead to sites among dark and mystical. The Cani have a special attraction for everything that does not know and is not planned.

“Fattibilissimo” in Italian means “very easy” these are the trips of the Cani, outing where the chance of success is few or no, and legs-breaking terrain where probably the mountain rejects and spits you…

“We have an attraction to what it is unknown; out of our routine, leave comfort schemes and wink to the danger and stupidity.”

“We like to … take unknown paths, play with luck and try not to lose.”

“Not long ago, we were near the Lake Como, al Passo S. Jorio, and the time to find a way down, we approached to a man who was passing by, judging by his look, it seemed that he knows very well this place… and it was like that, he told us about a way across the valley, and he said, ‘this path, is a path that goats only used…’, we looked us and we said, ‘fuck!, Here we go!’.”

A motto…

“Maybe Wrong Valley” quello che un uomo finlandese enuncia con calma dopo essersi perso su monti invernali in mezzo alla neve.
