Ivan Ravaioli. First italian to conquer a RHC

Ivan Ravaioli erupts like lightning in the competitions of fixed gear. In the night of Milan, in October 2014, he got an incredible second place in his first Red Hook.

The style of the Italian is obviously, since seven years old he is on a bike and ran in the mythical Mercatone Uno team in early 2000.

At Brooklyn Ivan has managed to put his wheels in front of all his rivals. It was the first Italian to win a Red Hook Crit after a mind-blowing pace race.

Ivan

My name is Ivan Ravaioli, I was born in Faenza close to Ravenna but since several years I’m living in San Fior close to Treviso.

I’m riding bike since 7 years old.

Fixed Gear

Fixed gear bikes were for me track bikes which you use during a completion in a velodrome.

A friend of mine, Omar Presti, introduced me to the Criterium world and convinced me to participate in this new race format. So few months ago it was my debut in the Milan Red Hook Crit, it was an amazing experience and the result was very positive, I managed to finish second in my first race.

Seen the result, I decided, along with my team, participate in all the races of the 2015 Series RHC and try to get a good result in the overall standings. Crits freak me, I really like, you have to be very very technical and it’s very funny.

Atmosphere

I raced professionally in road bike and I have to admit that the atmosphere of the fixed gear is a very different environment, without exasperation. I hope that does not change and stay as this.

The Brooklyn’s night

Brooklyn will always remain a very important day for all, I was the first Italian to win a race in the series, is a pride.

The Bahumer’s team

This year, thanks to Bahumer first, and all other sponsors, we will be in the four Red Hook Crits. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity they give us.

In the Bahumer team there are seven friends: Marco Cecchinato, Omar Presti, Rudy Armellin, Simone Andreatta, Tony Tabarin, Marco Squizzato and myself.

Your bike

The bike that I used to race in Brooklyn is a Eurovelo (store Vittorio Veneto-Treviso). The frameset is entirely made of carbon.

Future RHC Series

Considering the trend of recent years, this new format (Criterium) and above the Red Hook, it can start to have global significance.

Thanks to…

Thanks to all my team and all the friends who support me in this new adventure and, above all, thanks to my family, to share these moments with them is priceless, it is the most important thing for me.
