Factor has unveiled the ALUTO, a new gravel bike designed to complement the race-focused OSTRO Gravel. Where the OSTRO thrives in pure competition, the ALUTO broadens the spectrum by offering a more endurance-oriented ride, balancing sharp handling with stability and comfort for long days on mixed terrain.
Balanced geometry
The ALUTO’s geometry is carefully tuned to deliver agility without sacrificing control. Short chainstays and a slightly steeper head tube angle keep the bike lively, while a lower bottom bracket shifts the rider’s center of gravity for greater stability. A marginally higher stack height also improves adaptability, allowing riders to find a comfortable fit without losing the option of a race-ready position.
Designed around 45 mm tyres, the ALUTO offers measured clearance for up to 47 mm at the rear and 52 mm at the front. This balance ensures precise handling similar to the OSTRO Gravel while giving riders the ability to run wider setups for added comfort and traction on demanding routes.
Integrations focused on ease of use
Recognizing the needs of endurance riders, Factor has integrated downtube storage to keep tools and essentials securely tucked away without compromising aerodynamics. Internal cable routing has been engineered for both clean aesthetics and easy maintenance, and the frame is compatible with both 1x and 2x drivetrains to suit varied riding styles.
The ALUTO pairs with the Black Inc HB05 Barstem, developed specifically for gravel riding. Its shorter reach offsets the longer dimensions of modern shifters, while a shallow drop and increased flare improve control over rough surfaces. Details like moulded cable entry ports further streamline the setup, simplifying routing while maintaining a precise finish.
A true all-rounder
The bike launches in two finishes, Raptor Blue and Quattro Grey, both drawing inspiration from the Dakar Rally. Just as vehicles in that race are engineered to withstand extreme distances and harsh conditions, the ALUTO is built with resilience, adaptability, and precision at its core.
Factor positions the ALUTO not as a step below the OSTRO Gravel but as a partner. A versatile machine, agile yet stable, sharp yet comfortable. It reflects the brand’s vision of gravel as a discipline that continues to evolve and diversify.
