When we visited Campagnolo’s facilities in June and had the opportunity to test the new Super Record 2×13 road groupset, we already anticipated that 2025 would be a historic year for the brand. Following that initial launch a few months ago, Campagnolo now completes its versatile, cross-disciplinary platform with the presentation of the Super Record X groupset. In combination with a new wheel model, the Bora X, both conceived and designed specifically for gravel. As if that wasn’t enough, they are also launching new configurations of the Super Record 13 to meet the needs of the most demanding road, time trial, and all-road cyclists.
One platform, endless possibilities
Being aware that we live in an era of cycling where, during just a few years, the main disciplines have segmented and new ones like gravel and all-road have emerged, Campagnolo didn’t want to leave anyone behind. The brand has clearly demonstrated its desire to once again revolutionize the cycling market, and that’s why its platform offers a wide range of adjustments to meet any end-user’s needs.
On the road, in addition to the familiar 2×13, there will be a 1×13 single-chainring version available, offering up to five different chainring sizes. Along the same lines,
a dedicated time-trial configuration will feature a new hand interface and improved aerodynamics (available in January 2026).
With an eye on the all-road community, still relatively small but steadily growing in popularity, there will also be a 2×13 configuration equipped with a new rear derailleur featuring the Nano Clutch system, offering great versatility for switching between road and off-road use.
Last but not least, we move on to gravel, arguably the most celebrated discipline among enthusiasts and the one that has undergone the most evolution in recent years. With the new Super Record X, Campagnolo puts the finishing touch on its lineup, introducing a high-performance 1×13 wireless groupset designed specifically for gravel riding. This new drivetrain, based on the SR13 but incorporating significant design and engineering improvements to ensure optimal performance on demanding terrain, represents a clear move to reposition the brand where it belongs.
Super Record X and Bora X: Gravel at the Highest Level
What began as a discipline centered on adventure and enjoyment, practiced by only a few, has now evolved into a competitive reality. This shift has led brands to expand their catalogs and design new components conceived for and dedicated to this discipline.
The new Super Record X is the result of continuous evolution, design, and engineering in the pursuit of maximum performance on a gravel bike. It represents Campagnolo’s first 1×13 wireless groupset dedicated to this discipline, and the brand’s expectations are understandably high.
Among the technical aspects that have caught our attention the most is the new derailleur. In addition to being compatible with sprockets up to 48 teeth and featuring a reinforced design, it features Nano Clutch, a new system designed to maintain the optimal chain tension on the most technical terrain, preventing the chain from dropping. The crankset has also been redesigned to improve aerodynamics and offer a range of chainrings from 38 to 52 teeth, with the option to also include a power meter. It’s worth highlighting the approach taken with the levers, keeping the left lever as simple as possible and focusing on the right one to control the entire drivetrain—a good decision to reduce weight and component complexity.
Paired with the Super Record X, the new Bora X wheels make their debut on the market —undoubtedly great news —as the iconic range, renowned for its performance and excellent results, now enters the gravel segment. Featuring a 50 mm profile, a 27 mm internal rim width, and compatibility with tires from 35 mm and wider, these wheels are designed for maximum off-road performance.
