L’Uomo col Martello – 3 Boundaries

In this article we want to present the new project from one of the most interesting collective, passionate about the perpetual search for the limit: L’Uomo col Martello.

As he tells us in his interview Jon Ortuondo, L’Uomo al Martello (LUCM) was born by the geographical shift what was the crew PIPE GANG in the early years of the fixed gear movement in Milan, around 2008 /2009 and surely the desire to maintain their friendship and the passion for cycling that joins these four friends.

Members and founders of LUCM are Mickael Colautti, Francesco Dolfo, Antton Zubbia and Jon Ortuondo. As the name says L’Uomo al Martello (The man with the club), the type of challenges that these guys usually are marked adventures that put your body to the limit either for endurance, strength, fatigue or the sum of the suggested three and always accompanied by the shadow of the man with the club.

This year the LUCM part in L’Etape du tour (Pau- Hautcam preceding the rise of the legendary Col du Tourmalet). To prepare for this challenge, the guys have thought of organizing a training stage in the Alps in three different countries (hence the name 3 Boundaries): Italy, Slovenia and Austria. The distance traveled is 234 km with 7,500 m of altitude, including 8 mountain passes, Passo Sella Carnizza 1125 m, M. Montasio 1500, M. Mangatt 2,072 m, Passo Moistrocca 1,611 m. An unforgettable journey that will live an experience in contact with wild nature in the Alps of Friuli, in the Nort-East Italy and take for granted that this training converted into something epic.
